Hello, I am Susan of the North

AKA Susan Hintz Epstein

Beregini Symbol THE MAGICIAN and an old wise Hemlock tree

I am the author of RUNE PLAY: LEARNING THE RUNES, going through the process of authoring another book, and rebranding, updating and transferring my blog site, formerly Nornir’s Corner, to Word Press, where I hope to have more fun with it, as well as features to give me more control over the Content.

Susan of the North has more fun than Susan Hintz Epstein. She can blow in like a cold northern wind and blow out again. Susan of the North divines the Runes and adapts a lifestyle more in accord with the Wise Women of the Wildwood. Susan Hintz Epstein is the person who takes care of the day to day: BORING! Susan of the North weaves Wyrd with the Norns and rides the skies with Frau Holle in the Wild Hunt: EXCITING!

What am I about? Stirring up the psychological pot to create change. Sitting on the edge of human conscious, asking, “Why aren’t we getting the job of global change done? Because we are freaking lazy? Or because we have lost touch with our roots and need to continue expansion and contraction in order to grow?” That’s what I’m aboutexpansion, contraction, and growth.

  • At the moment I’m freaking boring, sitting at home writing a book.
  • The book is about Yggdrasil, the Norse Tree of Worlds (and life, if you have a tree of worlds it has to be about life), and the life force energy of human beings and managing that energy.
  • Why is it important to manage that energy? For me it is about a more balanced life experience, intensity (I love to be intense), and clearing the Subconscious of shadows so that I can be about the business of sharing the light.
  • This blog is about learning – if you’re interested in the types of things I’ll be sharing about. The Runes. The Norse Tree of Worlds. Sitting out. Overcoming demons and meeting elves.

I wanted to create a blog even while I’m in the process of writing a book because I am impatient to get the material out there and see how it will be received. I would love to connect with other people who are experiencing life changing connections with the Norse pantheon, whether their connection is religiously oriented or not. If this blog is successful, I will meet those people, develop friendships, share commentary, and get my book written in such a way that it is useful to others and highly readable. That might be challenging for me, because I love big words. But I shall try to keep that tendency in check.

What you will also get if you follow this blog:

  • A weekly Rune draw and interpretation for the week ahead.
  • Uploaded videos of similar topic and inspirational content
  • Weekly podcast Wyrding Well Wisdom with Erika Maizi, author of The Wyrding Way
  • Instructional how to videos and notification of online classes

This site will evolve and change as I evolve and change. It might contain anything: original writing, original art, philosophical and metaphysical stuff. But it will not contain racism or cruelty or putdowns of any kind. This site is meant to be uplifting! So here we go!
